An All Yards Art Show about playing with #yardwork

Rainbows, thank you notes to postal workers and teddy bears in windows are visual ways our communities are reaching out to show support for each other. As we practice social distancing, we continue to find ways to be together, apart. Design your #yardwork installation with materials you have handy at home. Coordinate with your neighborhood on a theme, or surprise everyone with your own vision. You could even use your yard as a performance space.
With lots of yards participating, the Greater Des Moines area will be transformed into DSM Emerald City. Driving, walking and biking through neighborhoods will provide unexpected surprises from a safe, social distance. This project is initiated by local artists Rachel Buse and Christopher Chivetta. Both are sculptors interested in working in nature and use material and color to explore meaningful interactions with people.
